RECRUITING TEACHERS FOR ESOL SCHOOLS
  Certification and experience requirements

1. What certification do you have as a teacher?
U. S. certification as granted by a State Department of Education to teach in public schools
Canadian certification as granted by a provincial Ministry of Education permitting teaching in public schools
(The above two points apply to teaching in one of the American curriculum schools)
British certification permitting teaching in the public schools of the United Kingdom
2. What experience have you had as a certified teacher?
We also prefer to hire teachers who have had at least two years experience teaching the curriculum for which they were certified – i.e. either the American, Canadian or British curriculum.
The parents of the students attending our schools expect their children to learn to speak, read and write English up to “native” ability. We therefore seek to hire “native speakers” of English for our schools who show evidence of being able to write Standard English clearly.
