Wanna Read?
Posted 12/12/2019 03:25PM

Do you Wanna Read? Thirty AISA secondary students sure do!! And their commitment to promoting literacy was evident at the 1st Early Childhood Family Festival, October 11-13, in Abu Dhabi. As volunteers for Wanna Read?, an initiative led by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, that aims to promote reading and learning, AISA students spent their weekend encouraging an appreciation for reading, by reading to children who attended the event. Some lucky AISA students even had the benefit of working with a Speech Therapist, as they learned to read in a manner appealing to younger children.

In addition to volunteering for Wanna Read? events, all of AISA’s fifty Wanna Read? volunteers have attended a training/orientation at Healthpoint Hospital that allows them to read to young patients in the Wanna Read? hospital waiting areas/libraries.
